MIKA MAMON

Mika Mamon is a UK singer-songwriter, originally from the Philippines, now living in Saltburn on the North Yorkshire coast. She is supported by her duo partner and producer Daniel Hunt who co-writes tracks and plays many of the instruments. Mika and Daniel have fronted bands playing at pubs/clubs, festivals, weddings and corporate events in addition to their Section 20 duo. Together they have formed a music collaborative to help unsigned musicians release their music.Her tracks (including the singles Stand Together Apart and Holiday Romance) are produced by Carl Pemberton (CPMR Recording Studio), who many will remember as one-half of the chart-topping duo; Journey South. Mika was born in Mindanao, spending her early childhood years in Cebu city, and grew up in Iloilo city with her musical family. Her father, a military officer, loved to sing swing and rock n roll songs, her mother, an accountant, was a classical pianist and her brothers were a bassist and a drummer in local bands. Her love of singing and performing was influenced by her brother's New Wave music, boosted by her time as a DJ for Kiss FM, singing ballads in her bedroom and on the local karaoke scene. Songwriting stems from her early poetry compositions in school, continuing with various acoustic duo partnerships, learning guitar and piano along the way.
